Job Summary

We are looking for a skilled and proactive IT Support Engineer with expertise in managing Linux and Windows environments, along with hands-on experience in configuring and troubleshooting switches, routers, and other network equipment. The ideal candidate will provide technical support, maintain system reliability, and ensure smooth IT operations across the organization.

Key Responsibilities

  1. System Administration:
    • Install, configure, and maintain Linux and Windows servers and workstations.
    • Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and ensure high availability.
    • Manage user accounts, permissions, and group policies in both environments.
  2. Network Management:
    • Configure, maintain, and troubleshoot switches, routers, and firewalls.
    • Monitor and maintain network security and connectivity.
    • Optimize network performance and ensure minimal downtime.
  3. Technical Support:
    • Provide Level 1 and Level 2 support for IT-related issues.
    • Respond to helpdesk tickets and resolve hardware, software, and network problems.
    • Assist employees with troubleshooting and usage guidance for IT systems.
  4. Security & Compliance:
    • Implement and monitor IT security protocols, including patch management and vulnerability assessments.
    • Ensure systems and networks adhere to organizational security policies.
  5. Backup & Disaster Recovery:
    • Implement and maintain backup solutions for critical systems and data.
    • Develop and execute disaster recovery plans to ensure business continuity.
  6. Documentation & Reporting:
    • Maintain accurate documentation of network configurations, IT assets, and processes.
    • Provide regular reports on system performance, uptime, and incidents.
  7. Collaboration & Training:
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support IT infrastructure needs.
    • Conduct training sessions for employees on best practices for using IT systems securely.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Education:
    Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
  • Experience:
    Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in IT support, with expertise in Linux and Windows environments.
  • Technical Skills:
    • Proficiency in Linux (e.g., Red Hat, Ubuntu) and Windows Server administration.
    • Hands-on experience with switches (e.g., Cisco, HP) and routers (e.g., Cisco, Juniper).
    • Knowledge of networking protocols (e.g., TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs).
    • Familiarity with firewalls and security tools.
    • Experience with virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V).
    • Scripting skills (e.g., Bash, PowerShell) are a plus.
  • Soft Skills:
    • Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
